The Arkoudospilios cave or the Holy cave of Panagia Arkoudiotissa on the Akrotiri peninsula in north west Crete is also know as the Bear Cave. This is because the internal water cistern seems to be guarded by the large bear.

I live on the beautiful island of Crete in the Mediterranean. It is from the island's scenery, people, wildlife, history and culture that I get much inspiration.
