The small village of Stavros on the Akrotiri peninsula of Crete boasts some wonderful sea views. Stavros is also where much of the acclaimed film "Zorba the Greek" was filmed. The painting is of a cool February morning but even so the colours of the sea are magnificent. The original painting is framed.

About David Capon
I live on the beautiful island of Crete in the Mediterranean. It is from the island's scenery, people, wildlife, history and culture that I get much inspiration. I am not only a professional artist but also an art tutor and demonstrator.I provide a workshop at Plaka (Apokorono) on most Sundays and visitors are welcome. The workshops are suitable for advanced painters or beginners and are carried out in an informal and friendly basis. Tuition in oils or for larger paintings or on a one-to-one basis is carried out in the studio. I work in oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel and pen and ink and include topics such as seascapes, landscapes, portraits, surrealism, pets, wildlife and townscapes.
